For Ontario students, graduates and the adults who help them

The biggest decision of your life shouldn't be a Black box.

PathFinder helps you understand how university, college and the skilled trades each fit you, showing its reasoning, naming its sources, and handing the decision back to you and the people who know you.

University

Degrees and research

Longer, theory-first, widest range of roles at the end.

College

Applied and practical

Faster route to work, with a bridge back to a degree if you want one.

Skilled trades

Earn while you learn

Strong Ontario demand, a licensed trade, and real earnings from the start.

Ranked by fit only - never by prestige

How it works

Every answer shows its work.

Most tools give you a result and ask you to trust it. PathFinder shows you where every claim comes from and where it was uncertain — so you always know something, it stays on instead of guessing.

Source cited with date and release version
Estimates clearly labeled, not presented as facts
Uncertainty flagged when data is thin
"No preference" when there genuinely isn't one

That last line is the point: a tool that knows its limits is the thing we want it to replace.

Example - Business Administration & Management

💡 That last line is the point: a tool that knows a limitation is the thing we want to fix to replace.

Who it's for

Five people, five different views

Students
Your three pathways

University, college, and trades shown side-by-side with honest trade-offs. No path is the "fallback" — all three are treated as real options with real futures.

Counsellors
What's still open

A student arrives with their PathFinder brief — you pick up the conversation where the tool left off. Deeper counselling, less intake admin.

A book, not a transcript
For the counsellor view

You see the student's reasoning and where they got stuck — never a raw chat log. Summaries only; the private parts stay private.

Parents & admins
Approve, and talk better

Share the PathFinder brief with your family before the big conversation. Everyone in the room is working from the same sourced picture.

Everyone
Free to students, always

Adults re-entering the workforce, newcomers figuring out credential recognition, anyone who missed the counsellor window — PathFinder doesn't check your enrollment status.

Our rules, in writing.

Trust isn't a marketing claim here — it's how the product is built.

Cite it or don't say it.

Facts carry sources and dates. If we can't cite it, we say 'I don't know' instead of inventing.

A guide, not a decision-maker.

The decision belongs to the student — ideally taken with a counsellor or family.

Estimates are labeled.

When numbers are modeled where data is sparse, we label them as estimated ranges — never presented as fact.

Distress ends the AI's job.

Any sign a student is struggling steers the guidance away from routes and toward a human immediately.

Your data, your rules.

See everything it knows, control what's shared, delete it all. No surprises.

Questions we get asked

Honest answers.

How does PathFinder decide which path fits?

It matches your answers to labour market outcomes, program entry requirements, and your stated priorities — then shows its work.

Can I share my results with my counsellor?

Yes. You can share a summary brief. The counsellor never sees your raw answers, only the themes and fit scores.

Is this only for Ontario?

PathFinder is built specifically for Ontario pathways — OUAC, OCAS, and OYAP — for now.

What if I'm not sure what I want?

That's exactly who PathFinder is for. Uncertainty is a valid starting point — the tool is built around it.

Where we actually are

What's built, and what isn't.

The product is built and tested and is real. One thing a deliberate early team has not been through clearly validated. Every item has not been clearly validated. This section means what it says.

Before you suspend your logic

This should make you skeptical. Here's why it isn't.

AI guidance sounds like exactly the kind of thing that would be wrong in subtle, hard-to-catch ways. You're right to be wary — most tools that claim to advise are guessing with confidence.

PathFinder is deliberately designed to be transparent about what it knows, where it's estimating, and when to stop and hand off to a human.

The rules aren't a marketing section. They're constraints built into the model. When the data isn't there, the tool says so.

Designed to be replaceable

Every answer is meant to help you have a better conversation with a real person — not replace it.
